Advantages and Disadvantage of Living in Potong Pasir

Today I am going to tell you about the advantages and disadvantages of living in Potong Pasir. There are a number of facts to come your way so be prepared as I bombard you with many opinions.
If you bother to walk around Potong Pasir you will be able to see all the little surprises that this place has to offer. The advantages of living in Potong Pasir are plentiful but yet there are disadvantages. The advantages are that the choices of food are big which we can choose from many types of food, from western food to Indian food. Another advantage is that the Potong Pasir MRT is a walkable distance from any part of Potong Pasir and people can take the bus service which goes there for those who live deeper inside Potong Pasir. The MRT station also has many different buses which can go to many places. There are wet markets in Potong Pasir and there are two different ones at different parts of Potong Pasir so people do not have to walk too far a distance to get meat and other groceries that nearby convenience stores sell. Potong Pasir even has a furniture store and a place to wash your laundry. Even things that are not so common such as coffee beans can be found in Potong Pasir. There is a store which says closing down sale for a few years which it sells goods cheaply. Around Potong Pasir you can find various medical clinics which include dental clinics and Toa Payoh Polyclinic is at a walk-able distance from Potong Pasir. For people who like to fish, they can just head on to the Kallang River which is just a few minutes walk away and there is also a park nearby for people to exercise and have recreational activities there. Services such as film development, printing, photocopying, laminating and ring binding are available. The community centre offers various facilities which include a basketball court, a street soccer court and a badminton court which you can rent it for personal use at a affordable cost. Potong Pasir also offers an Indian temple which Hindus can go and worship and also two different churches for Christians to go for service. Last but not least is the Saint Andrew’s Village which has a kindergarten, a primary school, a secondary school, a Junior college and a boarding house.

Although there are many advantages we shall now take a look at the cons/disadvantages. Having studied in St`Andrew for years, I often felt the lack of a variety of good food other than Sandy's dessert and N & B. Often when my friends live in Potong Pasir, they have to travel to other towns for a major departmental store or supermarket. As the roads are mostly two lanes, there can be serious congestions during peak hours
