Secondary 3 Adventure Camp- Every Boy A Sportsman
Like many other people from the secondary 3 cohort, I thought that the three day two night camp I am going to attend was going to be the worst three days of my life. But when I reached the destination, it did not turn out the way that I thought. Due to the sec 2 streaming exercise, I was separated with my friends whom I studied with for the past two years. When I got posted to 3ST, I saw many unfamiliar faces in the class. The camp was one of the best way to get to know them better.
The activities that were arranged for us helped us know each other better and build up our teamwork and trust. The games required both teamwork and trust in our team. In one game, we were told to try and get through the hula hoop without touching it. After several tries that failed, we finally realise that we have to believe in each other in order to accomplish the task. At night, we had to share a tent with someone we just knew. Through the activities, we get to know the weaknesses and strengths of our friends.
My favourite activity was the nature rumble. We managed to trek through a forest full of mud. At one point, we had to swim across a creek to cross to the other side.
This camp has taught us many values and helped me know my classmates better.
